The Challenge

As the company grew its footprint across Singapore, managing operations manually or via fragmented systems became a bottleneck. The company needed a robust ERP to streamline inventory control, order fulfillment, and delivery operations across departments while keeping sales performance transparent and accountable.

Key challenges included:

Virtual stock allocation to individual salespersons

Complex warehouse mapping with racks and shelves

 Accurate picking and delivery flows

Unified real-time order and inventory visibility

The Odoo-Powered Solution

1. Virtual Inventory by Salesperson

To empower the sales team while maintaining control:

  • Products were allocated virtually to salespersons.
  • If a salesperson exhausted their stock, they could request a virtual transfer from peers.
  • No over-selling was possible without reallocation.

2. Rack & Shelf-Based Warehouse Configuration

Using Odoo’s storage locations:

  • Each product's physical location (rack & shelf) was digitally mapped.
  • Picking instructions displayed precise locations to the store man.
  • Bulk and batch picking were supported for operational efficiency.

3. Smart Picking & Delivery Assignment

  • Warehouse managers assigned orders to drivers and vehicles.
  • Delivery status (delivered, rescheduled, or cancelled) was updated in real-time.
  • Rescheduled orders:
    • Next-day orders stayed in a "waiting area"
    • Orders rescheduled beyond 2 days were re-shelved and required fresh picking.

4. Streamlined Purchase with Landed Costs

  • Integrated both local and imported goods procurement.
  • Incoming goods were tracked by container numbers.
  • Landed cost calculations included freight and import duties, auto-adjusted to product costs.
